In Bangalore high-rise apartments (10+ floors), gravity pressure from overhead tanks or hydro-pneumatic pumping systems can surge past 6 bar (90 PSI). Without an inlet Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV), the plastic pre-filter bowl or inline sediment housing can crack along the seam.
Common Cause 3: Solenoid Valve (SV) Failure or Float Valve Jam
If water constantly drips from the overflow or cabinet bottom when the system is off, the electromagnetic Solenoid Valve has jammed open with limescale, permitting continuous municipal flow into the storage tank.
